Training & Experience
The safety of your kids is our top priority at Nature Explorers. Our staff are CPR and First Aid certified, and we are experienced outdoor educators. Although adventure activities are a key part of our program, we always lead them safely and responsibly.
Covid-19
We take COVID very seriously. Our staff are all fully vaccinated, and we ask that all kids bring a face mask with them to Nature Explorers - whether you want them to wear the mask during the day is up to you. Please make the best decision for your family and we will respect and support it. We are fortunate to be outdoors at all times where the risk of transmission is very low. We also ask each child to bring their own hand sanitizer, even though the staff will have some on hand just in case. If your child is exhibiting cold or flu like symptoms, we ask that you please keep them home.
Weather
Forest adventures come in all sorts of weather, and we explore rain or shine. There are no indoor facilities at Johnston Mill Nature Preserve (that’s part of its magic). We do have tarps and makeshift shelters to help us stay dry. In the event of severe or dangerous weather we will end programs early and keep everyone safe until they’re picked up.
